Mindfulness DBT & Therapy Approaches

I am dedicated to supporting teens and emerging adults therapuetically by tailoring the use of evidence-based therapuetic approaches to meet the unique needs of each individual, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

These approaches include Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness practices, among others. Each method focuses on empowering my clients, helping them develop helpful coping strategies and increase their resilience. I aim to create a space where all of my clients feel heard, valued, and understood as they navigate their path towards well-being.

MINDFULNESS

Mindfulness is the simple and powerful skill of paying attention to what’s happening right now. It helps you gently guide your mind back to the present so you can handle emotions more calmly and connect better with others. With practice, mindfulness helps you feel more grounded, less overwhelmed, and more at ease in your daily life.

EMOTIONAL REGULATION

Using mindfulnesss skills can help you manage your emotions by gently bringing your attention to the present moment, without judging what you feel or think. Instead of reacting right away, you learn to pause, notice what’s happening, and let it pass.

This can help you get out of overthinking loops, feel less overwhelmed, and handle emotions with more ease. Over time, it builds resilience by reminding you that feelings come and go—you don’t have to be controlled by them.

Everything can be taken from a man but one thing:  the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.

WISE MIND

“Wise Mind” is a core skill that helps you bring your feelings and your thinking together. Instead of being pulled too far in either direction, it guides you to a calm, steady place inside.

From there, you can notice your emotions, consider the facts, and make choices that feel thoughtful and right for you. With practice, it helps you feel more in control, less reactive, and more confident in your decisions.
